New Marvel Teaser Released, My Thoughts On It.

It seems Marvel has a new promotional image asking, "Who are the Mystery Men?" with nothing else to go with the cryptic phrase but a release date of June 2011 and this image:
Some part of me hopes this relates to the MIA series, "The Twelve" but the odds of that are about .1%. The reason such a thought even entered my mind was the old-timey look of the image. It is as if this takes place in the past with some sort of super-team. My money is on something that isn't quite an event like Fear Itself, but more likely a new alternate continuity series like the Noir comics Marvel put out. I could be horribly wrong, but that's just my guess.

  1. I like the look of this too. The guy at the front looks like he's got a SHIELD badge on; the guy at the back looks like the Hood.Is there a mummy there? Plus Generic Pulp Hero second from left.
Oh and JMS; anybody! finish the Twelve!
Great blog BTW; you definitely deserve more posters!

  2. I don't know about The Hood being part of this as he is busy over in Avengers looking for Infinity Gems. I hadn't considered S.H.I.E.L.D. being involved in this however, and that is an interesting idea that would make a lot of sense. Some sort of covert-ops group they put together in the past with pulp-type characters. That would actually be a cool comic, like a mixture of Jonathan Hickman's S.H.I.E.L.D. series and a spy-thriller. Thanks for the positive words on the blog too! I maybe should put out a post asking for any guest posters as you suggest.

  3. Could it be a Secret Avengers/Incognito prequel/crossover? (Both Bru titles) Probably not!
