Rant Reviews--5 Fear Itself Tie-Ins AKA Get Your Snark On

Fear Itself hasn't been very great, and most comics that tie-in with it are dragged down in quality, so of course I want to engage in the ever-so-fun activity of reviewing comics that directly relate to the event. Yes, I'm going to be a smart-alec in my reviews of these.

Rant-Reviews--Most Of These Came Out Last Week

Most of these comics came out last week but I finally got around to reading them, so I'm going to review them anyways because it hasn't been a horribly long time like almost a month...except with Heroes For Hire #8. Daken: Dark Wolverine #10, Fear Itself: The Homefront #3, Hulk #35, and Invincible Iron Man #505 are all still kind of new though. I also feel extra cynical today so get ready for some dark humor!

My Comic Book Haul, June 1st, 2011

It's that time again, where I look over my comic haul for the week because I randomly thought this was a good week to comment on the books I picked up ahead of time before I review them. Let's get into it...

Rant-Reviews--Daken, Heroes You Pay, Deadpool Wants To Die, And A Rare Miss For Thunderbolts.

We' got a series of declining returns, with a really great Daken: Dark Wolverine, quite good Heroes For Hire, pretty enjoyable Deadpool, and a surprisingly mediocre Thunderbolts. Yes, they are all Marvel books, but I have something big planned for a DC character on Friday so it's cool.

Any Comic With Spider-Man AND Batroc The Leaper Is A Winner In My Book--Heroes For Hire #6

Heroes For Hire #6
This has been a pretty enjoyable series so far. It has served as a way to bring in lesser-known characters who are "hired" by Misty Knight to do various tasks and gives the book and excuse to let characters flit in and out of the book. There was of course the big twist that the Puppet Master was in fact orchestrating this, but since breaking free of him last issue Misty is now doing the whole "Heroes For Hire" business legitimately with the help of Paladin.  It makes for some fun reading.

My Haul From Wednesday May 4th.

I haven't done a haul examination in awhile, where I look over the comics I picked up this week, and I got some good ones this time so why don't we do a run-down? I get to give a brief overview of what I've picked up and may be reviewing soon, and you get to laugh at my bad taste in comics if you don't agree with my selections.

Rant Reviews--Paid Heroes, Crazy Heroes, Violent Heroes.

Wolverine: The Best There Is #5 is actually kind of good, Heroes For Hire #5 is good too, Irredeemable is solid as always.

Rant-Reviews--Heroes For Hire, Heroes Gone Mad, and Jim Gordon Apparently Has A Son.

We got three comics, Heroes for Hire #4, Irredeemable #23, and Detective Comics #874.  Let's break them down.

March 2nd 2011 Comic Haul.

Everything from my comic haul this week. It was bigger than I realized it would be.

Rant Reviews--X-Factor, An Avenger Book (Out of the Too Many), and Hired Heroes.

Madrox and Layla do some investigating, The New Avengers bores me, and Heroes For Hire keeps doing good stuff.

Rant-Reviews--Nothing terrible, and a few things that are quite good.

This time we've got a mediocre panther, adventures in space with a superhero-gone-bad, yet even more Deadpool, Heroes you can hire, and everyone's favorite gang of mutants. I swear it was a coincidence the scores steadily go up as you read further down, I didn't design it that way.

I'm happy, my comic haul was good this week.

Just thought I'd share how I'm pleased with the comic items I got this week. Why was it a good pull? Let's list what gets me excited of what I got and how it looks promising, with some possible reviews to come from a few of these...

Rant-Reviews--Out of the five heroes on our cover only 2 appear in the issue.

The disaster that is Shadowland and Daredevil, Osborn is one bad mutha' and neither the Punisher, Ghost Rider, or Iron Fist appear in a comic that specifically advertises them.
