Starting May 2026 Off With a ToyMan Show!

Today was the first Sunday of May, and it was extra special thanks to there being a ToyMan show! Upon my arrival early in the morning, I was pleased to see the show was chock-full of goodness as usual. If my posts about the ToyMan show were to ever only get one thing across, the fact that the show is stuffed to the gills with awesome items needs to be driven home! Toys, comics, diecast cars, trading cards, records, magazines, Funko Pops, and everything in between are always at ToyMan, and one can spend the whole show taking in the mix of cool accoutrements.

I began my time at the show by saying hello to my great friends Spike of Lost in Space Toys and Collectibles, as well as Tim Metzger. I proceeded to have a chance to chat with Brian Lan and Shane Lodi about how they had been doing, and enjoyed seeing them. My delightful chum, Jack Thomas, of Fortress Comics, was present and had a huge assortment of intriguing comics as well. As I proceeded to walk around the show, I had the pleasure of seeing Cayden of Tri Fox Shoppe and bought a really cool Sonic-themed sticker from him! Check it out:

As I continued browsing around ToyMan, I interacted with my friend Jessica Mathews and was excited to hear about a new book she has coming out soon--I plan to buy a copy and will discuss it more in the future once it is released! The Tatertot crew was there with neat wares, and my friend Tom was selling cool shirts at the show, too, and I spotted celebrity guest Brad Kesten (known for a variety of voice-over work) meeting with fans and excitedly chatting with folks as well! It was a superb show, as always, and I eagerly look forward to the next Toyman on July 12th if I'm able to attend--that also happens to be Gibson's birthday, so we'll see how busy things are!

The March 2026 ToyMan Was a Delight!

Today's ToyMan Show was another highly enjoyable event. Whenever people ask me, "What show do I go to if I want to be impressed by the sheer amount of stuff for sale?" I always tell them, if you want a variety of neat items (and plenty of them), go to ToyMan. If you can't find a comic, toy, trading card, movie, or such at ToyMan, you probably didn't look hard enough or ask the right person, because it is most likely somewhere there, or a vendor will be able to tell you how they can get it for you! I truly appreciate the mental game of Tetris that the showrunner, Chris McQuillen, must play to make sure all the vendors have space and attendees can walk around without being crowded, because he strikes the perfect balance of rad stuff for sale, but also having a wide enough aisle you don't suffocate in a crowd. Let's discuss who/what I saw at the show, though!

I kicked off the event by chatting with an assortment of great folks. I saw Spike from Lost in Space Toys and Collectibles, caught up with Tim Metzger, and ran into Jack of Fortress Comics. The cool people from Tatertot's shop were present, and I saw some cool items for sale from 573 Collectibles. I also had a chance to cut some deals with John from Bigfoot Comics, which is how I acquired this fun, "Guardians of the Galaxy," comic featuring an early appearance of when Angela went from Image Comics to Marvel (it was a whole mess of legal rights that eventually were resolved and saw her character's IP sold to Marvel). In the upstairs area, I was overjoyed to see such cool cats as Jessica Mathews, my chum Lindsay Hornsby, and Cayd of Tri Fox Shoppe, who told me they've started doing Twitch streams to show off their artwork! Heroes for Kids was present raising funds too, and talented author Jacqueline James, whom I've bought books from before, told me about another cool new one coming soon! Plus, the guest talent, Eddie Deezen (actor and voice actor), was chatting with fans and signing autographs too! There were clearly a lot of fun activities going on. I love going to the ToyMan Show and eagerly await the next one on May 3rd. There is always something new to see (or multiple new and cool things). The Debut ToyMan Show of 2026 Was Superb Fun!

I attended the debut ToyMan Show of the new year, and it was a great first show of 2026! I arrived a bit early and immediately chatted with some of my good friends, including John Chaffee (Bigfoot Comics), Jack Thomas (Fortress Comics), and Tim Metzger. I also had a good chat with Spike Forester (Lost in Space Toys and Collectibles) about our hopes for the new year. As vendors were setting up, I also talked with the good folks of Tatetot Comics and Collectibles, as well as Tom Milister. A number of vendors I hadn't met before were present with tons of toys, comics, DVDs, video-games (lots of games), and it reminded me how, anytime I attend ToyMan, the sheer volume of stuff impresses me.

One vendor I've met a couple of times had some cool business cards, 573 Collectibles. They had a number of comics for great prices. I also saw some of my friends upstairs, including Cayden of Tri Fox Shoppe, who had a lot of cool stuff; plus I got to chat with Lindsay Hornsby, who was showing off her awesome comics and other wares. Heroes for Kids of Perryville was present, and we discussed how busy their schedule for 2026 was--and that they were excited! It was fun wandering between the booths and seeing all the fun wares. I bought two Mr.  Potato Head coloring books for the kiddos to enjoy as well, because they were fun and retro. Here they are:

I had a ton of fun at the ToyMan Show; it was a delightful first convention to attend for the year! I'm already pumped for the next one on March 8th and can't wait to see what cool things will be for sale then! As you know, it will be at the Machinist Hall--12365 St. Charles Rock Rd, Bridgeton, MO, 63044. December 2025's ToyMan was a Great Way to Close Out the Year

Today was the last ToyMan Show of the year and the last comic show of 2025 that I'll be attending (unless I'm totally forgetting something on my calendar). It was a stellar way to close out the year! I will emphasize how ToyMan shows are always so full of stuff that if you can't find something, you probably didn't look hard enough. Toys (new and old), die-cast cars, laserdiscs, Funko, paper ephemera, DVDs, CDs, video-games of all eras, sports memorabilia, Pokémon, trading cards, and comics (but of course) are just some of the things I examined today while at ToyMan! Plus, they had special guest Kat Cressida, a well-known voice actress who was excited to meet with fans today! It was as lovely show as always, in other words. I'll break down some of whom I saw and what I got now...

Tim Metzger was present and had some cool comics to browse--I bought a snazzy one from him about Thrawn (an interesting character in the mythology). Give it a look:

As I proceeded to walk around the show, I saw my chums from Tatertot Comics and Collectibles, as well as the awesome Tri Fox Shoppe (on the upper level). As I continued exploring upstairs I found my good friend Jessica Mathews as well as the incredible folks from Perryville's Heroes for Kids--it was good to catch up with all of them! Back downstairs, I ran into Larry of Bug's Comics and Games and picked up a lovely second printing of the debut issue of, "Absolute Batman," for a superb price. I thank Larry for the rad deal! This ToyMan show was fantastic, as they always are! I got to browse so much cool stuff, chat with friends, and wish everyone a happy holiday season. I look forward to all the great upcoming ToyMan shows in 2026 and will see everyone at the next one on January 11th!

The November 9th ToyMan was a Great Show

Today was the November 9th ToyMan Show, and I had an immense amount of fun! It was packed to the gills, as usual, with tons of awesome stuff to shop for. Some holiday-focused shoppers were there, as there is just one more show before Christmas and the New Year, as well as plenty of folks after the usual awesome comics, toys, Lego, Funko, DVDs, statues, vinyl, magazines, and more!

I began the show by chatting with my friend, John, of Bigfoot Comics and Collectibles. I also had a chance to greet Spike from Lost in Space Toys and Collectibles and talk about how life had been. Tim Metzger was present with a lot of cool stuff as well. My chum, Jack Thomas of Fortress Comics, had a display loaded with awesome books, and I picked up this lovely, "Wolverine," from him:

Tatertot Comics and Collectibles' booth featured a bunch of video-games and toys, and Tom Milister had some cool goodies too. Upstairs, I ran into my friend from Tri Fox Shoppe, and they were selling some awesome creations! Lindsay Hornbsy had some really neat items and I bought her new comic of, "Dinosaur-Headed Teenage Girls." Give it a look:

I had a lot of fun browsing around today. I also picked up some cheap, "Blood Bowl," comics, which is basically a Warhammer-styled version of football that is ultraviolent and silly. I also made the acquaintance of Dan Dillion who published, "The Ultimate St. Louis Trivia Quiz," which is a book full of fun facts and information. As I love trivia, I made sure to get a copy, which he was kind enough to sign. Here it is:
