Sometimes, exclusive comics are produced. Not just unique variant covers, but special comics themselves. They are usually random curios with the story behind the comic more fascinating than the comic itself--but I find them interesting! There was the English property tycoon who spent about 10,000 British pounds to celebrate his son's Barmitzvah with an officially licensed, "Superman," comic. Marvel had a tie-in comic given away briefly at CCI/SDCC in partnership with the private defense contractor Northrop Grumman before backlash led to many copies being shredded. Plus, who could forget Captain Citrus and the plan to give his comic out to Florida schoolchildren (besides, apparently, everyone)? These comics aren't bought at the shop so much as made through special business deals and given out to those who qualify--be they attenddees at a Barmitzvah, comic convention, or cursed to be a schoolchild in Florida. A new special exclusive comic will now be available soon, as well, "Amazing Adventures," #1--given exclusively to cruisers on Marvel/Disney Adventure Cruise heading out of Singapore.
"Amazing Adventures," #1 features a story with the cruise ship everyone is on, following Tony Stark/Iron Man as he and the Avengers fight Doctor Octopus when he sabotages Stark's Molecular Duplication Device. Featuring writing by Alyssa Wong and art by Ron Lim, that is a solid creative team! I imagine an official digital version of the comic might be made available, and physical copies will get sold on eBay for (I presume) not too much money. After all, these exclusive comics are fun historical footnotes, not massively valuable collector's items. Still, if you're eager to take a cruise out of Singapore this December, you can book tickets now. If you get an extra copy of, "Amazing Adventures," #1 that you don't have a need for, please let me know!
